Time to Tri Indoor Triathlons 
These events will introduce individuals to the sport of triathlon at a grassroots level with a one-hour event open to all who are looking to be active and perhaps shake up your fitness routine! If you’re an experienced triathlete, use these events as training day, challenge yourself at a shorter distance and get involved at an indoor level.
 
Each event is scheduled to start at 7:30 a.m. — and just one hour later, YOU will be a triathlete. Organizers will assign waves (so that not everyone starts at the same time) prior to the event. You should arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to your start time to be sure you have your wave start time information plus time to warm up, stretch and meet your fellow athletes. Your wave will include you plus five others for a total of six people per wave.
 
Each event follows the same schedule (click here to download event schedule):

  • 10-minute swim
    • Any stroke may be used and they may walk if feet can touch the ground
    • No life jackets, floaties, paddleboards, or outside assistance permitted
    • Lane lines must be used 
    • Volunteers will be there to count athlete swim lengths
  • 10-minute transition (changing to athletic attire after exiting the pool)
    • the locker room shall serve as the athlete’s transition area
  • 30-minute spin bike ride
    • Athletes may adjust the resistance to any desired level
    • Volunteers will be there to record their distance biked
  • 5-minute transition (athletes will transition to treadmills)
    • the locker room shall serve as the athlete’s transition area
  • 20-minute indoor treadmill run 
    • Run/jog/walk
    • All treadmills shall be set on a 0% incline but may be adjusted to any desired level by the athlete
    • Athletes may also choose their speed
    • Volunteers will be there to record their distance covered

Gear

  • Athletic swimsuit or swim shorts and top
  • Goggles and swim cap (provided as part of your registration packet or you can use your own)
  • Snorkel (for breathing purposes) — permitted but completely optional
  • Dry athletic wear to change into following the swim (running shoes, shorts and a top) and wear for both the bike and run

Format
Three pool lanes will be used with two athletes in each lane (one on the right side and one on the left side – you’ll stay on the same side throughout). You will swim down and back for the 10 minutes before a whistle/horn announces the end of the swim. Once finished with the swim, there will be a 10-minute transition where you can change into your athletic attire. All clothing changes will be done in the locker rooms, which will be open to participants. Please bring your own lock for any personal belongings. Participants will have access to the locker rooms for use before, during and after the event.
 
Next, you will make your way to the spin room where you will ride a spin bike for 30 minutes. The resistance setting is determined by you to make the ride as comfortable as possible. When you are finished with the bike ride, you will have a 5-minute transition to the treadmill area.
 
The final leg will have you run for 20 minutes on a treadmill with the incline and pace at your preferred setting. You can change your settings at any time during the run.

Congrats! You’re officially a triathlete! You’ll receive a finisher medal as proof of all your hard work. Being a triathlete unique and rewarding. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to prove to yourself that you have what it takes.
